Executive Team

J. Todd Harvey
President and CEO

Todd brings a wealth of experience focused on the development and commercialization of biotechnology based processes.  Todd most recently served as the Vice President of Technology for a mineral biotechnology company, where he successfully developed and commercialized one of the Company's proprietary technologies.  Todd has been extensively involved in the management of intellectual property, technology commercialization and licensing and private and public financing.  Additionally, he holds several patents, has written over 30 technical papers and has extensive industrial experience.  Todd also serves on the Board of Directors of GeoBiotics, LLC.

Murray D. Bath
Vice President Engineering
B.Sc. M.Sc.

Murray brings a substantial level of engineering and plant construction experience.  He is responsible for the industrial development of the Company's technologies including large scale testing, engineering, feasibility studies and plant design. He is a process engineer with more than 30 years experience in process development, design, commissioning and operation of processing plants.  Prior to joining GeoSynFuels, Murray was Executive Vice President for GeoBiotics, LLC and was responsible for the Company's engineering and design of their proprietary biooxidation processes.  Murray was also Manager of Metallurgy for Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc. and Minproc Engineers, Inc., both in Denver, Colorado. He was previously employed by Rosario Resources Corporation (AMAX), Kilborn Engineering and Anglo American Corporation of South Africa.  

William J. Kohr
President - Geo Fossil Fuels, LLC

Bill is one of the co-founders of GeoSynFuels, and has served as Senior Vice President, Research since its inception. He has recently moved to managed one of the Company's newly developed technologies related to hydrocarbon processing.  He is also one of the co-founders of GeoBiotics, LLC where he successfully invented and developed proprietary biotechnologies for mineral treatment. He previously spent more than ten years in biotechnology at Genentech Inc. In 1989, he was named an Inventor of the Year for his work on Activase, Genentech's human t-PA. Before his participation in the development of t-PA, he worked with the FDA to obtain Investigational New Drug (IND) status for Genentech's first product, human growth hormone. In addition, he helped form a joint venture between Genentech and Hewlett-Packard called H-P Genenchem, as part of which he developed and patented a new design of protein sequencer that is now marketed by Hewlett-Packard. Bill has published more than 50 technical papers and received more than 45 patents in the United States with many corresponding foreign patents.  

Joshua A. Sroge
Controller and Vice President Finance

Joshua Sroge joined GeoSynFuels in August 2007 and brings a broad financial, legal, and operational background in public and private industry. Joshua has more than 15 years experience in a financial leadership capacity, working in software development, hardware distribution, medical, and chemical industries. Prior to joining GeoSynFuels, Joshua was Director of Finance at Spatial Corp., Manager of Corporate Reporting & International Accounting at GE Access Distribution, Accounting Manager at Image Guided Technologies, and Assistant Controller at Kryptonics. Joshua has a BS degree in Accounting from CUNY Hunter College.   

Greg J. Olson
Vice President Research And Development
B.S., M.S., Ph.D.

Greg Olson joined GeoSynFuels in May 2007 from Little Bear Laboratories.  Greg brings a wealth of knowledge on the aspects of research, development testing and commercialization of biological processes.  Greg has several patents in his name, over 50 publications and is recognized world-wide as an industry leader in microbial processing.  Greg owned and managed a commercial research facility prior to joining GeoSynFuels.  Greg has a Ph.D. in Microbiology from Montana State, a M.S. in Microbiology from University of Florida and a B.S. from Northern Illinois University.

John H. Evans
Director Of Research

John Evans joined GeoSynFuels in October 2008 from the University of Colorado - department of Chemistry and Biochemistry where he was an Assistant Research Professor.  John has successfully directed large research teams in wide areas of investigation. John has over 20 professional publications and has presented his work at many recognized conferences.  John holds a Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology from Florida State University, a B.S. in Science Education and a B.S. in Biological Sciences also from Florida State.

Glenn R. Sprenger
Director Of Engineering

Glenn Sprenger joined GeoSynFuels in January 2009 from Merrick and Co. where he was a Principal Design Engineer. Glenn has over 30 years of experience in operations management and engineering practice in chemical process operations, petroleum refining, bio-fuels, hazardous waste incineration and pharmaceuticals. His technical strengths include process engineering with extensive bulk solids processing; pilot plant design and operations; and water/waste water treatment systems. His project management experience has included conceptual process development, detailed design, procurement, construction management, start-up, commissioning and plant operations management. Glenn holds two patents, and has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and BioChemistry from Michigan State University  

Tim P. Spilchen
Vice President Business Development
B.S.

Mr. Spilchen has 20 years experience in the marketing and implementation of new technology in process industries, primarily in the pulp and paper sector.  Tim has represented and implemented specialty chemical programs and process control technology in plants for some of the world’s most prominent companies.  In addition to experience with more established companies, Tim has experience with entrepreneurship and owns and operates his own retail business and has also been an integral component in several technology company startups.  Tim joined GeoSynFuels in the capacity of Business Development Manager in 2006 and has responsibility for developing the biofuels business.  Tim attended Sault College in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario and has a degree in Pulp and Paper Technology.

Andrew W. Flemming
Vice President Strategy
B.A.

Mr. Flemming has 15 years experience in the research and implementation of new technology in process industries, primarily in the mineral and paper sectors.  Mr. Flemming joined GSF in August 2008 from Avista Solutions International Inc.  He brings a vast amount of knowledge of technology development, and commercialization of large industrial processes.  Andrew has successfully developed and implemented a new business in Latin America and been instrumental in the development of global strategy within his last company.  Mr. Flemming has a B.A. in Chemistry from University Of Minnesota.

Terrie A. Leonard
Administration Manager

Terrie joined GeoSynFuels as Administrative Manager. She has extensive experience in administration. Mrs. Leonard handles all Human Resources and Administration within GeoSynFuels. Previously she worked for GeoBiotics LLC, Pincock, Allen & Holt, Inc., Ferret Exploration, and Wyoming Fuel.
